Indra

He is subordinate to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva but above all the other deities. The symbol of heroism, he fights demons, killed the Dasyus (m) and is god of the sky and atmosphere. His consort is Indrani.

One of the Original Vedic Triad, the preceptor of the gods, protector of ceremonies, men, the head, the summit of the sky, the centre of the earth and conferer of immortality, he is represented variously as the eldest son of Brahma, the twin brother of Indra and the grandson of Brhaspati. He is the husband of Sudarsana and Svaha and the father of Daksinam, Garhapatyam, Ahavaniyam, Pavaki, Pavarmana Suci Dhrstadyumna, Subrahmanya, Bhrgu, a daughter, Agneyi, and the monkey, Nila.
