This Punic kingdom covered much of the area that is now Morocco, the far west of northern Africa, with Tingis (modern Tangiers) as the capital. It was separated from Numidia by the Muluchath River. The inhabitants were Berbers called the Mauri (later known as the Moors). It became a Roman province after the Punic wars.
